Purpose

Women’s March San Diego was founded in response to the 2016 election, recognizing emerging threats to civil rights, equality, and democratic principles. These concerns have only deepened following the 2024 election, underscoring the critical need to protect our democracy. Our liberation is interconnected, and we stand in solidarity to defend it. Drawing inspiration from generations of justice movements we commit to bold, collective action centered on equity, collaboration, and systemic change.

We honor those who paved the way and stand united with global allies in the ongoing fight for freedom. Through grassroots efforts and an unwavering dedication to justice, we strive to safeguard democracy and build a future founded on dignity and inclusion for all.

Since 2022, Women’s March San Diego shifted from leading annual marches to strengthening a coalition of activist organizations across San Diego. We focused on training, support, and resources that helped make the People’s March, Hands Off, and No Kings possible. Building a unified coalition has been our priority. That’s why we’re excited to invite you to follow SD United as your main source for march and action information going forward. Follow SD United Events today!
